WHAT IS PERSONALIZED LEARNING PATH?
Personalized Learning Path or PLP is a project focused class that explores your personal interests as well as learning to collaborate and work as team. My class will be set up as follows: (Teacher reserves the right to make changes to the weekly schedule based on district calendar and needs of the students in the class.) Monday: “Maker Monday” will include; good things, week at a glance, personal check in, whole group assignment/direct teach, and/or STEAM Lab (Science Technology Engineering Art Math) challenges. Tuesday-Thursday: “Weekly Around the World” (stations) Stations will include, time to work on group projects, checkins with the teacher, complete STEAM labs from Monday, and personalized independent work (journal time, notes, reading, organization, etc.) Friday: “Genius Hour” Throughout the entire year your student will be working on a “Passion Project”. They will choose an area of interest to research, and create a website that will include videos, podcasts, original articles, graphics, etc. At the end of the year students will present their projects. MATERIALS YOU NEED: 1) Your binder that is taken to all classes. 2) Composition notebook for PLP only. 3) Pen or Pencil PROJECTS: Each quarter will have a topic focused project. ALL projects will have an outline that provides detailed instructions, due dates, and grading requirements. I will go over the outline in class, post it on Google Classroom and my website. Every project will have a rubric that I use for grading. During the revising and editing stage of each project, I will go over the rubric in class and post a copy on Google Classroom as well as my website. I am looking forward to the fun and exciting things to learn and create in PLP this year! See you soon! |
